Life on an Escalator
This past weekend I made the trek from Lubbock to Atlanta for the Home & Gift Market! I found so many beautiful, inspiring things, and I can’t wait for them to start showing up on our shelves this spring! I’m really excited about the new products and think that our customers will be too!
Finding all of these new treasures was hard work- scouring at least 24 floors of booths, spread across three different buildings, which meant there was a LOT of escalators involved… Taking the elevator is almost impossible with the floods of people that go to this market, and the stairs would have just about killed me, so instead, “it’s off to the escalator… again”! Also, if you’ve ever been to Atlanta and gotten off the Marta at the Peachtree stop, you’ll also think of the SUPER tall escalator that comes to mind for me. I’ve never seen one so big, and the first time I rode on it, I had to keep my eyes directly in front of me (not looking at the top or bottom) in order to not get nauseated. It’s really crazy.
You’re not really supposed to take pics in the mart, so I don’t have a lot of photos to share, but I did take a few. The “chandelier” has nothing to do with anything, but it was in one of the showrooms, and I thought it was just a fantastic display (and very creative)!
